I love making gifts for people for the holidays! Today I made peppermint bark for the first time and of course I added some peppermint essential oil! If you need a quick gift for friends or neighbors, this is really fast to make and really good! I’m not a fan of too much sugar but that’s why I will give it all away 😉
.
1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
2 cups white chocolate
2-5 drops dōTERRA peppermint oil
1 tbsp coconut oil.
•Heat up 1 cup of chocolate with 1/2tbsp coconut oil either carefully in the stove or in the microwave. I needed to do this quick so I popped it in the microwave for 1 minute then stirred and did it again for another 15 seconds and it was done. Careful not to overheat it.
•spread it over a cookie sheet (I covered mine with parchment paper so it would be easy to remove) then stick it in the freezer for a few minutes.
•while its hardening, smash some candy canes in a baggie until they are pretty ground up, leaving some little chunks).
•once the chocolate layer is hard, heat up 2 cups of white chocolate the same way you did the dark. When that is melted perfectly add 2-5 drops of peppermint. I added 4 and thought it was perfect. Stir it in then spread it over the first hard layer.
•sprinkle the crushed candy canes of the white chocolate right away and throw it back in the freezer.
•once it’s hard, take it out. I used a meat mallet to break up the pieces and that’s it! Put the pieces in a cute tin or clear bag with a cute ribbon.
